In today’s business climate, shareholders, customers and potential workers are looking closer at an organization’s social responsibility, above all their position on the environment, worker safety, and the impact that they have on the communities in which they operate. The role of an effective Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) or environmental management system is quickly becoming a more important measure of corporate sustainability. Implementing a new management system or upgrading your current system to conform to the relevant ISO standard will require significant time and resources.

With over 20 years' of experience in ISO certification in 13 countries on 6 continents around the globe, with organizations of all types including many leading multinationals. you can be confident in choosing us as your ISO certification partner.

ISO Turnkey Consulting

Having a strategic development and implementation plan, along with a clearly charted course towards certification can considerably reduce the time and resources required to reach your goal. A strategic plan is not unlike the rudder on a ship. Without a rudder, the ship may wander off course increasing the time required to reach its intended destination or in some cases not reach it at all. In the same manner, an ISO certification initiative without a robust strategic plan usually results in increased time, cost and less than optimal results.

At HSE International, we understand that each organization’s circumstances and needs are unique and call for a particular knowledge base and technical expertise. Our ISO support services are tailored to your organization’s specific needs. Our subject matter experts (SME) will provide you expert guidance in developing and implementing your strategic plan for your ISO certification. Our experts will also provide effective coaching of your teams and mentoring for your management staff throughout the implementation and certification processes. Application of best practices by highly qualified and knowledgeable SMEs with extensive industry experience can significantly improve the effectiveness of the management system and its ability to meet the organization’s objectives.

We utilize a project management-based approach for development and implementation of an ISO compliant management system. A structured approach is used to define project scope, planning activities, assignment of responsibilities and evaluation of results. The end product is an effective and efficient plan for development and implementation targeted for first time compliance or registration to the relevant ISO requirements.

ISO 45001

In March of 2018 the new ISO 45001 international standard for OHS was published. ISO 45001:2018 is an internationally recognized standard for OHS Management and replaces the British standard OHSAS 18001. The ISO 45001 certification provides a robust and effective set of processes for improving work safety in global supply chains. Designed to help organizations of all sizes and industries, the new International Standard is expected to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses around the world.

In these times of rising awareness of the importance of OHS, which includes increasingly strict legislation governing those areas, many organizations want to improve their OHS practices and avoid OHS issues. Intermittent 'reviews' or 'audits', conducted on an annual or semi-annual basis, can provide a snapshot assessment of an organization’s legal and policy compliance. However, these reviews are not sufficient to provide assurance that an organization will continue to meet its legal and policy obligations. To get that kind of guarantee, organizations need a structured OHS management system that works within their organization every day, not just a few times a year.

As the world’s most widely recognized OHS management standard, it outlines ways to achieve improved competitiveness, as well as benchmark, consistent performance and service. The benefits realized through reduced hazards, fewer incidents or lost time, and lower insurance costs makes ISO 45001 certification a sound investment for your organization.

ISO 14001

In September 2015, ISO 14001:2015 superseded ISO 14001:2004 which is a well-established international standard for Environmental Management. It is one of the most widely adopted standards worldwide behind ISO 9001 which was also updated and released as an updated set of requirements in September 2015. This was more than just coincidental. Both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 share a common structure, terminology and framework.

Successful implementation of an ISO 14001:2015 compliant Environmental Management System (EMS) can enable your organization to identify risk relating to possible non-conformances and reduce or prevent costly environmental incidents. Consumers and other companies are more environmentally conscious than at any previous time in history. Organizations and consumers are more concerned about the environmental practices of the companies that supply their materials, parts or subassemblies. Establishing a robust and effective EMS is a powerful way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to managing your environmental impact. This can also enhance your image, increase your brand equity and potentially improve your market share.
